HOLIDAY PARTY

The holiday season is here, and your Colerain Chamber is ready to celebrate! All Colerain Chamber Members are encouraged to attend our FREE Holiday Party on Wednesday, December 9, starting at 5:30pm at Northgate Mall.

We’ll have FREE beer and wine, tasty hors d’oeuvres from Funky’s Catering, DJ entertainment, some fun get-to-know-each-other activities, and LOTS of great prizes! It’s an excellent opportunity for business members to invite their employees to attend, and take advantage of your company’s Chamber membership.

Our 2015 Business Awards Dinner presented by the Colerain Chamber was thrilling! I really enjoy giving out awards, and we had many outstanding Award Finalists for each of our seven business awards. CHAMBER PRESENTS BUSINESS AWARDS

The Colerain Chamber is proud to present seven awards at our 2015 Business Awards Dinner on Thursday, October 22 at Wunderland Banquet Center (7881 Colerain Ave.).
The Chamber will also host two special guests at this Awards Dinner: Andrew Setters, award-winning TV and radio reporter (and a Colerain native) will be our event emcee. Mark Fisher, Vice President at the Cincinnati Zoo will also be there to speak about how to boost ties to the community, as well as your bottom line.
This Awards Dinner is a great way to network with leaders of many successful businesses across our community, as well as enjoy a fun night out with friends, family, and associates. I urge you to get your tickets NOW, before Early Bird pricing ends on Friday, October 9. Table sponsorships are also available, with no change in cost if you purchase by October 16.

THE CHAMBER CELEBRATES ITS FIRST ANNIVERSARY!

The Colerain Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated its first year anniversary! It’s been a great first year, and we have many exciting events and programs planned for the coming year. These activities benefit our Chamber members, as well as the general community. Watch this website for details.

Coming up on Thursday, September 24 is the Chamber’s first Business Expo & Job Fair, being held at Northgate Mall, 1 pm to 5pm. This is an excellent, affordable opportunity for Greater Cincinnati businesses to build awareness and showcase their products and services to the community, as well as connect with other businesses and the public. New businesses, direct sales organizations, and nonprofits will find this to be an exceptional opportunity. Be sure to reserve a booth by September 15!

Companies interested in the Job Fair segment of our September 24th event will find it a helpful way to identify new employee prospects. The event is FREE for the public, and represents a well-timed opportunity for job seekers interested in full-time, part-time, or seasonal holiday employment. Professional career counselors from Jobs Ohio will be on-hand to provide FREE resume’ advice and practice interviews!

SAFETY COUNCILS BENEFIT BUSINESS

The Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) developed Safety Councils to help educate business leaders about workplace safety, and to provide opportunities to earn premium rebates and awards.

By attending monthly Safety Council sessions, members learn best practices for accident prevention, risk management, emergency preparedness, and more. BWC administrators are there to offer program and grant updates, allowing attendees direct access to the experts. Also of benefit is the networking before and after the meetings.
The BWC and a collaboration of Northern Cincinnati Chambers have created the Northern Cincinnati Safety Council (NCSC). Get more information about the NCSC at a FREE Open House on Tuesday, June 30, 3:30 – 4:30pm, at 2704 E. Kemper Rd. (45241). If you join the NCSC by July 31, you can SAVE $50 just because you’re a Colerain Chamber member!

THE HOMETOWN HERO GALA WAS GREAT

Everybody’s talking about how much they enjoyed our Hometown Hero Gala on June 5th. The remarks delivered by Honoree Kerry Coombs had us hanging on his every word. Teddy Kremer gave a moving, heartfelt introduction for Coach Coombs, and Seg Dennison was the essence of an outstanding emcee. We were honored to host several members of Kerry’s family – including his wife Holly, a former NWLSD school principal – as well as friends from across our community.
Thanks to all the speakers, attendees, patron groups, donors, and sponsors who made this Chamber event a night to remember. We’re already pumped for next year!

HELP US HONOR KERRY COOMBS

Only 2 more weeks until our exciting Hometown Hero Dinner Gala on Friday evening, June 5. That’s when the Colerain Chamber will present our first Hometown Hero Award to KERRY COOMBS, assistant coach for The Ohio State Buckeyes – the 2015 national football champions. Kerry is also the former head coach at Colerain High School, so this will be a great opportunity for the entire community to say hello to Kerry and celebrate his success!
In addition to Kerry Coombs, our special guests at the June 5th Hometown Hero Gala will be Teddy Kremer, honorary bat boy for the Cincinnati Reds and former student manager for Coach Coombs, and Seg Dennison, popular 700 WLW sports announcer.
Everyone is invited to this Hometown Hero Gala at beautiful Pebble Creek (9799 Prechtel Road). You can choose to attend dinner and a private VIP cocktail reception with Coach Coombs, or just the dinner.

WELCOME TO OUR 100th NEW MEMBER

It’s been less than a year since the Colerain Chamber grand opening reception, and I’m thrilled to welcome our hundredth new member – Northgate Ford! Please join me in congratulating Northgate Ford’s General Manager Steve Reichert and the rest of the Northgate Ford staff.
When asked why he joined the Chamber, Steve said “I became a Colerain Chamber member to get involved, and to meet other people who work and live in Colerain Township. I love this community because of the time and effort that the people here put toward making this a special place.”
