AWARDS DINNER & ANNUAL MEETING – October 18, 2018 at Pebble Creek Event Center

This sold-out event was a show-stopper! It was thrilling to recognize all our outstanding award winners and finalists, and to honor Tom Abercrombie, of Abercrombie & Associates as our 2018 Hall of Fame inductee. Special thanks go to Rumpke and Butler Tech, our event sponsors, as well as all the other sponsors, donors, and volunteers. We were lucky to again have Andrew Setters as our celebrity emcee, and the video produced by Iron House Studios was excellent. What a great night all around!

THIRD THURSDAY NETWORKING – September 20, 2018 at Vinoklet Winery

It was another great evening of networking in the beautiful setting at Vinoklet Winery. Special guests were Shane Packer, Colerain Fire Department, who shared a variety of safety services available to businesses and residents, and Third Thursday sponsor Susan Bennett, of Thrivent Financial.

POLICE & FIRE APPRECIATION BREAKFAST – September 11, 2018 at Colerain Community Center

About 150 people enjoyed this year’s breakfast to thank the Colerain police, fire, and EMS professionals for their service to the community. Awards were presented to the 2018 Police Officer of the Year and the Firefighter of the Year. We also presented gift cards to the five fire houses in recognition of their outstanding EMS record over the past year. A moment of silence was observed in remembrance of the 9/11 tragedy.

RIVERBOAT DINNER CRUISE – August 16, 2018 on the Belle of Cincinnati (sailing the Ohio River) 

Almost 80 members and guests joined us for a tasty Mariner’s Buffet and relaxing cruise on the Ohio River, hosted by BB Riverboats. A good time was had by all, despite the rain, as attendees socialized and enjoyed themselves at this special Third Thursday Networking event.

INSIDER INFO LUNCH & LEARN – August 8, 2018 at Clippard Instruments Laboratory 

This informative Lunch & Learn included presentations by the Hamilton County Administrator, Jeff Aluotto; business consultant Kathleen Davenport, with the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation; and Colerain Township Administrator Geoff Milz. Attendants enjoyed a delicious fajitas bar generously provided by The Wellington at Northbend Crossing, as everyone learned lots of insider information about what to expect at the state, county and local levels.

Several representatives from the Chamber’s 12 benefit providers presented information and answered questions about the discounts and services they provide to Colerain Chamber Members. These discounts can often save Chamber Members substantially more each year than their annual membership dues!

THIRD THURSDAY NETWORKING – June 21, 2018 at Clovernook Country Club

Third Thursdays are popular opportunities for Colerain Chamber members to network and get to know each other. These relaxed monthly get-togethers are held at different locations throughout the year and don’t require advance registration. Just stop by, enjoy appetizers and a drink (or two!), and build your business relationships!

LEADERSHIP BREAKFAST: REACHING CUSTOMERS ONLINE WITH GOOGLE – June 14, 2018 at Houston Conference Center

Wow! This sold-out workshop was chock full of tips and techniques for successfully reaching customers with Google! The presenter was awesome – both interesting and knowledgeable – and there were several requests to bring her back again. We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast, generously sponsored by AmeriFirst Home Mortgage and BB Riverboats. Attendees got Google swag, as well as lots of learning, and post-event feedback was very positive.

LEADERSHIP BREAKFAST: OVERCOMING BUSINESS BOTTLENECKS – May 24, 2018 at Houston Conference Center

This helpful workshop taught us to be more results oriented to improve profitability, and how to develop an “index card business plan.” Thanks to our sponsors, Fifth Third Securities and The Hartford Funds, the attendees enjoyed a delicious hot breakfast while listening to a world-class business presenter.

What an awesome night! Hundreds of people enjoyed an evening of great food and great fun, as we honored UC Coach Mick Cronin as our 2018 Hometown Hero. Our celebrity emcee was Rocky Boiman, former NFL linebacker and 700 WLW sports announcer, and the UC Bearcats mascot also made an appearance! In addition to our popular Silent Auction and Live Auction, this year marked the addition of two new games: Corks & Blooms and Pennant Play.

Big night at the movies! More than 100 Chamber members enjoyed a free showing of GAME NIGHT, thanks to our generous host, Xscape Theatres. The room was filled at our first 2018 Insider Info Breakfast with Hamilton County Commissioner Chris Monzel. Commissioner Monzel provided a wealth of information about what’s happening in Hamilton County, as well as what we can expect in the months and years ahead. Attendees had an opportunity to get many questions answered, while we enjoyed a light breakfast together before heading off to work.

CHAMBER HOLIDAY PARTY – December 14, 2017 at Northgate Mall

We had another fantastic holiday party, with record attendance! Thanks to Northgate Mall’s sponsorship and donations from several Chamber members, all participants were able to enjoy free beer, wine, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, entertainment, and prizes. The Social Committee put together an awesome line-up of activities that allowed members to get to know each other better, while also having a lot of fun!

We were fortunate to again host popular Google Ambassador Joe Danzer, who told us about a new way to get on the first page of Google without any ad spending. This was a very interactive workshop and Joe graciously stayed after his presentation to answer individual questions. Several attendees gave an enthusiastic thumbs-up about how much they learned!

The special breakfast was held to show our appreciation for the efforts of the Colerain police officers and firefighters. Awards were presented to the Police Officer of the Year and the Firefighter of the Year. The breakfast was sponsored by Arlington Memorial Gardens, the Cincinnati Ohio Police Federal Credit Union, and Supercuts of Colerain. The awards were donated by Crown Trophy. Additional support for the breakfast was provided by Tim Hortons and Meijer.

HOMETOWN HERO GALA HONORING BILL RUMPKE SR. – April 27, 2017 at Wunderland Banquet Center – Reception, Dinner, and Presentations

The room was filled to capacity with more than 300 guests on April 27 when the Colerain Chamber presented its 2017 Hometown Hero Award to Bill Rumpke Sr., president emeritus of Rumpke Waste & Recycling and a long-time community partner. The celebrity emcee for the evening was Scott Sloan, popular radio host and personality with 700 WLW. A donation was made by the Colerain Chamber to the Timothy James Rumpke Foundation, honoring Mr. Rumpke’s late son.
This Gala was a memorable evening for the entire crowd, including a cocktail reception and delicious dinner catered by BB Riverboats, a fun game of “Heads or Tails,” a spirited Live Auction and Silent Auction, the award presentation, and a video and special interview by Scott Sloan and Bill Rumpke Sr., recalling some great stories and advice from Bill’s many years building the Rumpke business. The Chamber sincerely thanks the sponsors, donors, volunteers, and guests who made this event such a success.

 

LEADERSHIP BREAKFAST: BUILDING SALES WITH LINKEDIN – March 22, 2017 at Houston Conference Center

The training room was filled for this useful workshop about how to drive new sales with LinkedIn. Jim Gast, the expert presenter sent by Microsoft, taught us how to strengthen our LinkedIn profiles and how to generate connections with targets who are interested in what we sell. He also introduced us to Sales Navigator, a new LinkedIn tool for building sales leads. We also enjoyed a light breakfast, generously provided by our Breakfast Sponsor, the Colerain Kroger. Tony Blaine, Colerain Kroger’s Assistant Manager, provided an update about what to expect in terms of design and timing for the new Colerain Kroger.

This popular event was generously hosted by XScape Theatres Northgate in their beautiful, state-of-the-art theater. Delicious sandwiches, cookies, and coffee were generously provided by new member Tim Hortons in Colerain. Free cooler bags were given to each Chamber Member attendee by new member Emery Federal Credit Union. It was a great evening!

INSIDER INFO BREAKFAST WITH COMMISSIONER MONZEL – January 12, 2017 at Houston Conference Center

Hamilton County Commissioner Chris Monzel gave Chamber Members the “inside scoop” about what’s happening in the county in 2017 and beyond. Attendees also enjoyed a delicious breakfast sponsored by Meijer’s of Colerain. Commissioner Monzel provided lots of information about various projects, and also fielded a broad range of questions from Chamber Members. It was an insightful session, and an excellent way to start the year!
