NEW MEMBER RECEPTION – July 21, 2016 at Snow’s Lakeside Tavern

More than 80 people enjoyed the New Member Reception, generously hosted by Snow’s Lakeside Tavern. The Chamber’s Social Committee organized several fun activities and awarded lots of prizes. Snow’s provided the beer and wine, as well as an array of tasty appetizers. There were lots of laughs and socializing in the perfect place for this summer celebration!

THIRD THURSDAY NETWORKING – June 16, 2016 at Vinoklet Winery

Our Third Thursday Networking events are so much fun! Chamber Members are enjoying this monthly opportunity to get together for networking and socializing after their business day. Lovely Vinoklet Winery was great for wine tasting and appetizers as we spent some quality time getting to know each other.

LUNCH & LEARN – “MOBILE TECH TOOLS & TIPS” – June 9, 2016 at Houston Conference Center

Chad Adams, Microsoft expert and VP at Intrust-IT, taught our attendees valuable information about how to leverage mobile technology to grow their business and improve efficiency. Lots of useful suggestions were shared and many questions were answered, while everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by First Watch in Colerain. Colerain Chamber Member Kyle Stone of Priority Financial also won a FREE Microsoft Office 365! Congratulations, Kyle!

CHAMBER WOMEN’S NETWORKING LUNCH GROUP – June 10, 2016 at Buffalo Wild Wings in Stone Creek

The Colerain Chamber Women’s Networking Group meets for lunch at noon on the second Friday of every month. All female Chamber Members are invited to enjoy lunch and socializing with this group – no advance registration required. Just check the Colerain Chamber website for each month’s location!

Chamber Members had fun socializing after work at our first Third Thursday Networking event. It was a great time to relax and get to know each other in an informal, comfortable environment. Hoping to see more members and their guests at our June Third Thursday Networking!

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS PRESENTATION – May 12, 2016 at Pebble Creek Golf Course

The Colerain Chamber presented $1,000 college scholarships to each of five local high school seniors: Jenna Averbeck and Danielle Mouch at McAuley High School; Christian Wagner and Joseph Walden at LaSalle High School; and Rachel Oliverio at Colerain High School. Money raised at the annual Colerain Chamber Golf Outing support the CTBA endowment fund that makes these annual scholarships possible. Congratulations and good luck to all five 2016 winners!

GOLF OUTING – May 12, 2016 at Pebble Creek Golf Course

This Colerain Chamber Golf Outing raises money to support college scholarships for local high school seniors. A good time was had by all at this year’s Golf Outing, as it didn’t rain (despite dire forecasts!) nor was it too hot, and the golf awards, contest awards, raffle prizes, and door prizes were spread around amongst several players.

COLERAIN CHAMBER DONATION TO FIREFIGHTERS – May 4, 2016 at the Colerain Township Fire Station in Groesbeck

Colerain Chamber President Debra Stonehill and Board Member Mike Long presented donation checks from LaRosa’s and the Colerain Chamber to Colerain Fire Chief Frank Cook. These donations will go toward supporting firefighter safety and accident prevention, and were made possible through the funds that were raised in honor of Buddy LaRosa at the Chamber’s 2016 Hometown Hero Gala.


HOMETOWN HERO GALA HONORING BUDDY LAROSA – April 7, 2016 at Pebble Creek Banquet Center – VIP Reception

On April 7th, the Colerain Chamber presented its 2016 Hometown Hero Award to Buddy LaRosa, founder of LaRosa’s Pizzerias, and a widely recognized Cincinnati philanthropist and youth sports supporter. Other special Hometown Hero guests included his sons, Michael and Mark LaRosa, as well as Seg Dennison, 700 WLW sports announcer and the evening’s celebrity emcee. A donation was made to the Fallen Firefighter’s Fund in Buddy’s honor. VIP guests visited with the LaRosa family and Seg at the cocktail reception that kicked off this special evening.

HOMETOWN HERO GALA HONORING BUDDY LAROSA – April 7, 2016 at Pebble Creek – Dinner & Presentations

Hometown Hero guests enjoyed a delicious Italian dinner and a great Silent Auction with many popular packages. Memorable presentations were given by Seg Dennison, Buddy LaRosa, and his sons Michael and Mark. Sylvia Dwertman (Colerain Chamber member representative of Visiting Angels) made the winning bid for the priceless live auction prize: the opportunity to be an honorary Game Captain and throw out the first pitch at a Cincinnati Reds game, along with 4 field level tickets, a signed Joey Votto baseball, a Reds t-shirt and bobblehead, and more!
This second annual Hometown Hero Gala was a fun and inspiring night for all involved. The Colerain Chamber was thrilled to welcome a sold-out crowd of people from across Greater Cincinnati!

Insider Info is one of the key benefits of Colerain Chamber membership! This popular Insider Info Breakfast, open exclusively to Colerain Chamber members and their guests, featured presentations by 3 guest speakers: Frank Birkenhauer, Colerain Township’s Economic Director; Dan Meloy, Colerain Township’s Public Safety Director; and Todd Bowling, Superintendent of the Northwest Local School District.


LUNCH & LEARN: POWERFUL INTERNET MARKETING – February 24, 2016 at Clippard Instrument Lab, Inc.

The training room was packed for this very informative session about effective Internet marketing for small businesses. Thanks to our expert presenters from Constant Contact Email Marketing and Google, who shared many great tips for building business via low-cost Internet solutions. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by TGI Friday’s of Stone Creek, and appreciate the opportunity to use the excellent facilities at Clippard Instruments.

LEADERSHIP BREAKFAST: EFFECTIVE SELLING BOOT CAMP – February 10, 2016 at Houston Conference Center

This Leadership Breakfast was an excellent sales training workshop, led by nationally recognized keynote speaker Duane Plapp. In addition to learning “How to Short Circuit the Sales Process,” we enjoyed a tasty breakfast provided by Meijer, our generous breakfast host.



FREE MOVIE NIGHT & NEW MEMBERS RECEPTION – January 20, 2016 at XScape Theatres Northgate

Colerain Chamber Members and their guests enjoyed a reception and free showing of the award-winning movie “The Revenant,” as we welcomed new members who joined the Chamber in the past six months. This popular event was generously hosted by XScape Theatres Northgate in their beautiful, state-of-the-art theater. Express Graphics also provided a free photo booth for those who attended, complete with fun accessories. A great time was had by all!

INSIDER INFO BREAKFAST WITH CHRIS MONZEL – January 14, 2016 at Houston Conference Center

Hamilton County Commissioner Chris Monzel gave Chamber Members the “inside scoop” about what’s happening in the county in 2016 and beyond, while attendees enjoyed a light breakfast. Chris not only provided lots of information about various infrastructure and economic development projects, but he graciously fielded several questions from Chamber Members. It was a very informative session for all, and Chris offered to return next year!


CHAMBER HOLIDAY PARTY – December 9, 2015 at Northgate Mall

Almost 90 Colerain Chamber Members had a great time at our Holiday Party, generously sponsored by Northgate Mall. The initial “Amazing Race” through Macy’s was a hoot, followed by a fun party with DJ entertainment from Music By Steve, delicious hors d’oeuvres from Funky’s, free beer and wine, great decorations, and lots of fantastic prizes! Thanks to all the prize donors and volunteers who made it such an awesome way to finish 2015. The photos just can’t capture all the laughter!

LEADERSHIP BREAKFAST: EFFECTIVE SELLING BOOT CAMP – November 4, 2015 at Houston Education Center

The classroom was filled and the audience attentive as nationally recognized keynote speaker Duane Plapp talked about “The Art of Networking and Effective Messaging” at the first workshop in our 2-part Effective Selling Boot Camp. Everyone enjoyed breakfast sponsored by Meijer at Stone Creek, as we learned how to use networking to develop strong relationships that help us sell products and services. Duane Plapp returns for another Effective Selling Boot Camp workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016. His topic then will be “How to Effectively Short Circuit the Sales Process.”

BUSINESS AWARDS DINNER – October 22, 2015 at Wunderland Banquet Hall

The Colerain Chamber’s first annual Business Awards Dinner, sponsored by Joseph Toyota and Dynegy Energy Services, was truly a memorable night. The large room was packed as we recognized a broad array of outstanding finalists for each of the seven awards. Video interviews of the award winners provided depth and heart to the night. Celebrity emcee Andrew Setters (WLWT reporter and Colerain native) and guest speaker Mark Fisher (Vice President at the Cincinnati Zoo) added to the evening’s excitement with their vibrant presentations. Wunderland Banquet Center was a beautiful venue for this big event, and the food was delicious.
Congratulations to all the award winners and finalists, and thank you to all the sponsors, donors, and volunteers. We’re already looking forward to the 2016 Awards Dinner!

BUSINESS EXPO & JOB FAIR – September 24, 2015 at Northgate Mall

Thanks to the 50+ businesses who participated in the Chamber’s first Business Expo & Job Fair at Northgate Mall on September 24. Career counselors from Jobs Ohio were also on-site to provide FREE resume’ advice and practice interviews. This Expo & Job Fair was a great way for businesses to connect with each other and the community! Watch for it again in 2016.

Chamber members enjoyed our last bash of summer, generously hosted by Ashley Furniture HomeStore (in Northgate Mall). Ashley treated the Chamber to a delicious hors d’oeuvres buffet and gave each member a gift card and a complimentary lamp. It was a great night of networking, sharing stories, and admiring this beautiful store!

On June 5th, the Colerain Chamber presented its first Hometown Hero Award to Kerry Coombs, assistant coach for The Ohio State Buckeyes football team and former CHS head coach. Other special Hometown Hero guests included Teddy Kremer, honorary bat boy for the Cincinnati Reds and former CHS student manager for Coach Coombs, and Seg Dennison, WLW 700 sports announcer.
VIP guests visited with Kerry, Teddy, and Seg at the cocktail reception that kicked off this special evening.

Colerain members and guests enjoyed networking, and learned the “Benefits of Belonging” by talking to representatives from several of the cost-saving programs and services available to Colerain Chamber members. This Business After Hours was generously hosted by Clovernook Country Club in their beautiful clubhouse.


LUNCH & LEARN WORKERS’ COMP WORKSHOP – Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Clippard Instrument Laboratory

Colerain Chamber members and guests enjoyed lunch catered by the Olive Garden at Stone Creek, and got inside tips about how to save money on Workers’ Comp premiums, as well as how to successfully manage through upcoming Workers’ Comp changes. Guest presenters were Kathleen Davenport from the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, and Brandon Hunter of Hunter Consulting.
